Collette Vacations-From the Outback to the Glaciers Tour
We arrived in Los Angeles the night before since we knew we would be on the flight for 14 hours the next day so thought it was best to break up the flights. Coming from Florida it was another 6 hours to LA. When we arrived at the airport we were greeted by our wonderful Tour Director with Collette vacations Peter Camara. He handed out instructions on getting through customs and where to meet once we arrived in Australia. The instructions were very detailed and a great help.
We arrived to LAX at midnight to board our non-stop flight on Qantas to Brisbane Australia. Yes a whole 14 hour non- stop flight in economy. Sounds scary, and I was really dreading it, but honestly, it was not bad at all. The economy seating on Qantas was quite comfortably, seemed to me more leg room, good recline and in over 15 in-flight movies to chose from built into the seat in front of you. You were also supplied with head phone for the movies, tooth brush and paste, eye shades, blanket and pillow. We were well feed through out the flight and everything was complimentary, that included alcoholic beverages too! Which was great, so I ordered 2 glasses of champagne and off to sleep for approx 5 hrs. Around 1:30AM was when they served the main entree, but at that time I was quite tired so I passed on food and chose sleep instead. Around 4:00 AM we were given a snack bag which consisted of a sandwich, potato chips, chocolate chip cookies and a bottle of water. Breakfast was served about 2 hours before landing and before we knew it we arrived in Brisbane..... on Thursday May 17, 2012...*Remember you lose a whole day because of crossing the International Date Line.
