Auckland, New Zealand
Cloudy and 60 degrees

We left beautiful Mt Cook behind at around 8:00AM and a whopping 38 degrees-Yikes! We did get some gorgeous Sunrise photos over the mountain before we left and on our way back to Queenstown we made a stop off at a local farm stand, before we had to catch our flight to Auckland

We had flown may different flights throughout Australia and New Zealand while we were on this trip and never had one set back or problem, until today! We were flying Jet Star and they were delayed 2 hours and the flight was horrible. Tight seating, lots of turbulence and not snack or drink service. Thank goodness it was only an 1 1/2 hour flight to Auckland!

Because of the delay we did not get to Auckland until 6:00 PM and by now it was getting dark, but the driver did take us on a quick tour of the city, but we couldn't see much. We stayed at the Rendezvous Hotel. A wonderful city center hotel with very large rooms and nice views. We knew we had to leave very early( 4:00 am) to catch our flight back to Sydney and then onto the States, So we did not get to explore Auckland, but it looked like a nice city. We just had dinner at the hotel restaurant bar and relaxed in our very large room.

Auckland, Sydney, Los Angeles
Sunny and 65 degrees

We arrived on time for our fight to Sydney and then back on the 14 hours flight on Qantas to LAX. It was a good and comfortable flight.

Just a short recap;
I would recommend a visit to the land Down under.Yes it is a long flight, but it really was not that bad and well worth it in the end. If you could stay longer than 2 weeks, by all means do. There is a lot to see and do in both of these beautiful destinations.

I would recommend Qantas as the airline of choice, they were very attentive, comfortable economy seating and if you want to upgrade to business or first class (which I got an escorted tour with one of the airline attendants), by all means do it, one of the most impressive and roomy that I've seen for those categories. The flights were also always on time, the food, not so good, but it's "airplane" food, so what can you expect?

And last but certainly not least Collette Vacations. A BIG A+. They did a great job and went above and beyond in many areas, plus hotels, the locations, the tours and the inclusions were fabulous. And if you book a Collette vacation with air inclusive, they will also have a round trip pick up and return from your home to the airport FREE! One of many great features you get when touring with Colette...And don't forget, I can also add to our vacation experience if you book through me, so don't delay your Dream Vacation and put it off for "Someday" because "Someday" has arrived!
